Research interests:
My main research interest is to study the dynamics of different turbulent flows. With most objects partially or fully immersed in air (fluid) in the atmosphere, majority of the flow that occurs are turbulent in nature. During my PhD thesis, I had worked on the theoretical understanding of the turbulent inter-scale energy cascade in closed channel flows, and Turbulent Boundary Layer (TBL) flows at different Reynolds numbers. My present research concerns the investigation of the dynamics of methane plumes from different sources evolves as it moves into the atmosphere, using highly resolved Large Eddy Simulations (LES). This understanding is a crucial information in the overall estimation of methane emitted to the atmosphere. I use the Fire Dynamics Simulation (FDS), which enables the addition of terrain, forest, vegetation, buildings etc. to the domain and simulate the fluid flow with the hourly averaged weather data from ERA5 datasets from ECMWF.
